Georgian Town House floor restoration

This Georgian town house floor was in bad condition

After plumbers and builders damaged floorboards by ripping them out or cutting them. At Floorcraft, we were commissioned to bring this floor back to its former glory after 60 years of being covered by a carpets and lino. We did this by sanding away all of the old varnish and paint etched onto it revealing the natural colour of the pitch pine timber. We then sealed the floor with a water based floor lacquer giving it a light, warm appearance.

This pine floor had all the gaps filled with timber strips . This gives the pine floor boards the fully finished look with no dirt traps. The wood strips are glued in between each board with expanding glue then the floor is fully sanded level and finally sealed to the colour of your choice.
