This particular floor sanding and reclaimed parquet floor fitting job was done on potters bank in Durham City

On this parquet floor installation we use reclaimed iroko parquet blocks to extend the existing wood flooring into the hallway of this prestigious property.

The parquet flooring was fitted and the existing floor was repaired in many places as well as 2 full double steps installed into the main lobby of the property with bull nose on the stairs by our expert craftsmen. The wood parquet was then fully sanded including the lounge and dinning room back to original condition then we use a resin which is mixed with the fine saw dust from the wood floor we have just sanded they are mixed to make a very thin watery mixture, this is then troweled on to the wood floor. The mixture is then left to dry for a hour or so then the floor is resanded and this process is repeated several times to a very fine sanding of 120 grit finish. The floor is then buffed with a mesh oribtal disk for very fine sand. 3 coats of hardwax oil is applied and we abrade in between coats of the hardwax oil. This produces a very high quality and smooth finish. After we finished the parquet floors we polished all the solid oak doors in the property there was 33 in total and french polished the original staircase at the main entrance to the property then polished the new oak staircase at the new extended part of house to match the solid oak doors which give a fantastic contrast to the parquet flooring in this beautiful property.
